A SUMMER school for children with learning difficulties has received a special visit from council leader Cllr Chris Robbins.
'Transitions', which runs for one week during the school holidays, helps pupils with difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia to prepare for the move to secondary school.
Run by the Waltham Forest Dyslexic Association (WFDA), the summer school is held at Forest School and is aimed at improving skills such as problem solving and coping with homework.
A spokeswoman for the WFDA said: “Concillor Robbins was shown how children with learning difficulties are prepared and equipped for the transfer from junior school to secondary school.
“This visit acknowledges the achievements of the WFDA in aiding children to move with confidence to secondary education.”
