A FIVE mile fun run through the historic grounds of a mansion is set to take place in September.
The Rotary Club of Epping is preparing for the fifth Copper Hall Run on September 27 to raise money for local schools.
The picturesque course goes through the private grounds of the Copped Hall estate where a barbecue and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
President of Epping Rotary Club John Conroy said: “We organise this event to raise money to assist local schools by providing extra games and sports equipment for their budding athletes, and also to support the continuation of the excelled restoration work being carried out on the historic Copped Hall ravaged by fire early in the last century. The run is altogether pretty, but challenging.”
Prizes will be awarded to the winners with categories including men, women, over 40's and business teams.
The race will start at 11.15am and the schools cross country, which is a one mile route for under 13's, will begin at 10am.
