A POLISH woman has overcome many challenges to win an award at work.
Paulina Depta from Walthamstow was highly commended at the London learndirect Achievement Awards Ceremony in the 'Learner Support Award' category.
The national awards recognises learndirect staff and tutors who have provided outstanding customer care and tutor support for their learners.
While working at the lerndirect centre in Walthamstow for several years, Ms Depta's employer said she has not only helped customers, but has simultaneously been studying for a degree.
Originally from Poland, Ms Depta overcame many challenges in her work and study while adjusting to life in the UK.
Jonathan Hind, Ufi London regional performance director said: “The winners and highly commended finalists have shown exceptional determination, and have gone that extra mile to learn new skills and improve their qualifications or support others in doing the same.
“Paulina is an inspiration to learndirect support staff across England, and truly deserves recognition.”
