TWO schoolgirls and a pensioner from Woodford Green have scooped the top prizes in a national reading competition.
Woodbridge High School pupil Keziah Jones, aged 14, and Bancroft's Prep student Lydia Doye, eight, both won £50 book tokens after coming first in a children's quiz as part of the national Independent Booksellers' Week competition.
In the adults category, Isabel Sharkey also won £50 in vouchers after coming top in a fiendish challenge matching up locations with great works of literature.
The trio entered the contest through The Village Bookshop in Woodford Green High Road, which takes part in Independent Booksellers' Week every year.
All three also nominated the store as their favourite bookshop as part of the competition.
Manager Alison Lawrence said: "We thank them all for their very kind comments and we are delighted that they have each won £50 of book tokens."
