THE ladies of Linkside Tennis Club in Wanstead raised £425 for good causes - with the help of the Alzheimers Society elephant.
The well-dressed pachyderm took to the court with members of the Overton Drive club to raise money for both Alzheimers and cancer research.
Event organiser Dora Michaelides said the day was a fantastic success.
She added: “Local companies offered prizes for our raffle such as United Sport, Tesco, Visage beautician salon, Worx and Belgique, plus various prizes were generously donated by members of the club.
“The winners of the tennis tournament were Mai Yoshida and Junko Insekame, and the runners up were Inez Cordeiro and Andrea Boughton.”
