A FIVE kilometre run is to be held in Ilford next month to raise money for a variety of charities.
Organised by community workers at the Cardnial Heenan Centre and the Ilford Athletic Club, the event will also feature a day of activities and competitions, with prizes including signed photos of Noel Edmunds, Sir Alan Sugar and the England cricket team.
The race will be held on Sunday September 27 in the Melbourne Fields in Valentines Park.
A competitive run sets off at 10am, with a sponsored walk around the same track starting at 11am.
The money raised will go to Anxiety Care, the Royal British Legion, Little Havens Children Hospice, The Catholic Agency For Overseas Development (CAFOD), the Arthritis Support Network, St John Ambulance, the Brentwood Catholic Children's Society (Childcare) and the Cardinal Heenan Centre itself.
Last year the event raised over £5,000.
