LOCAL London Assembly member Meg Hillier this week welcomed proposals from London Buses to make a number of changes to the mobility bus routes in north east London.
The plans follow a detailed review of usage with the introduction of low floor, fully accessible vehicles on the main bus networks.
The proposed changes take in route 905, Chingford to Walthamstow, and route 903, Clapton Park to Leyton via Stratford.
They also included route 920, Hackney to Romford, via Ilford, and route 923, Clapton Park to the Isle of Dogs, via Stepney.
The 905 will move from current operator Hackney Community Transport to First. It will be withdrawn on Mondays and Fridays, but introduced on Thursdays, market days in Walthamstow.
Route 903 will be a new route operated by First running on Mondays only, partly replacing existing routes 920 and 923.
Ms Hillier said: "I hope these changes and the improvements in the main bus network will improve access to shops for the users of these buses.
"The review of routes has been thorough but sometimes even the best laid plans don't quite work as they were intended. I would be keen to hear from users how well the new routes work."
The changes, which are still to be finalised, are planned to be introduced on Saturday, February 21.
