ENTREPRENEURIAL youngsters will get the chance to test out their business skills when a community centre puts on its very own version of The Apprentice.
Budding Alan Sugars will be able to learn about running a catering firm - from creating innovative menus to balancing the books - during the contest, which will be held at the Bridge Community Venue in Woodford Green.
Contestants will compete for the chance to have their recipes added to the menu at the centre's successful cafe.
Chris Kapnisis, one of the charity's directors, said the event was a chance for youngsters to learn skills that may help them run their own businesses in the future.
He said: "Lots of young people don't get the chance to learn about business when they are at school.
"This event will give them an opportunity to learn some practical skills which are really important in business.
"We believe this is vital because some of the most successful business people did not necessarily do brilliantly at school.
"Through our work we have noticed that many young people lack these skills.
"The young people will be able to work in the kitchen at the cafe, where they can develop new recipe ideas and learn about basic hygiene skills.
"There will also be a free lunch available on the day."
The free event is open to any Redbridge youngsters between the ages of 11 and 18, and will be held from Tuesday August 11 to Thursday August 13.
