A WOMAN is preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for a breast cancer charity.
Samantha Sizealand, 29 has been training hard at the Concept Fitness Gym in Epping to prepare for the 5,895 metre climb at the end of this month.
So far, Samantha has raised more than £3,000 through sponsorship for the breast cancer unit at St Margaret's Hospital, Epping.
But she is hoping to reach a target of £4,000 by the time she reaches the mountain peak.
She said: “It's for a local breast cancer charity which provide drugs for women which aren't available on the NHS.
"I know several people who have died of different types of cancer and I have had friends who have lost parents, and quite a few family and friends who have had breast cancer scares. It's something that can affect anyone and charities like this are so important.”
Miss Sizeland sets off for Tanzania on August 28 and hopes to complete the challenge in six days.
She said: “I have got everything ready, all my kit has been bought and fitness wise I feel prepared. I have been doing all sorts of training at Concept Fitness from cross fit, kettle bells and long walks, so I'm all set to go.”
