TWO teenagers have been arrested after they were found carrying cannabis.
An 18-year-old man, of no fixed address, was given a verbal warning for possessing cannabis while a 17-year-old unemployed youth, from Loughton, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class B drug. He is due to appear at Harlow Magistrates court on Friday, August 14.
They were spotted by PCSOs Emma Stevens and Andrew Flett who were patrolling Loughton on their bikes when they came across the youths acting suspiciously.
The arrests were part of Operation Velo which sees officers using push-bikes on their beat.
Neighbourhood policing officer, PC Doug Lisle, said: “Bike patrols allow officers to cover more ground and they also give the element of surprise. We will continue to seek out those people who cause a nuisance within our community, and bring them to justice.”
