RESTORATION work has begun on Loughton’s war memorial. The monument, in Kings Green, will be professionally cleaned and the paving slabs around it will be relaid.
The town council has asked people not to use the area of the green around the memorial for recreation while the work takes place.
Loughton town councillor Caroline Pond said: “The War Memorial makes a very important contribution to our community.
Loughton Town Council hopes that this work will make the memorial an even more fitting tribute to those who gave their lives in our service”.
