ELECTRICAL hoists for every patient on a hospital ward have been bought thanks to a huge donation left by someone in their will.
The mystery person donated around £100,000 to the League of Friends of St Margaret's and Community which raises money to provide equipment to enhance patients hospital experience.
Chairman Mary Issacs said: “We would never have been able to afford to by these hoists without the legacy left for us. We quite often get money left to us but this one came completely out of the blue and we were very surprised, especially as it was so much money. We don't know the person but we are extremely grateful to them for such a generous donation.”
The hoists will be used in all the single rooms at St Margaret's Hospital in Epping on the Beech Ward in the new Epping Forest Unit.
Lead nurse Paul Wing said: “They make life so much easier for our staff and allow our patients to be moved with dignity and in comfort.”
