A FAMILY fun day has been held in aid of a children's charity.
The event, held at the Cash Converters store in High Road Leyton, raised more than £1,000 for Dreams Come True, which grants wishes for terminally ill children.
Featuring a “beach party” theme, staff dressed up in seaside attire and local DJs The Ragga Twins, DJ Eastman and DJ Sweet provided entertainment.
Food and face painting were also on offer and customers were also given the chance to win a TV worth £400.
Local bookmakers Leyton Ladbrokes and William Hill also contributed giveaway prizes.
Simon Hare, of Cash Converters, said: “We're so pleased that we've managed to raise £1,000 for Dreams Come True.
“We'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers who came along and took part, helping us to make the day a great success.”
A number of staff from the Leyton store also took part in a charity bike ride from London to Cambridge for Dreams Come True, helping to raise £8,000.
Gary Lewy, who owns the Leyton store, said: “The whole Cash Converters team were really raring to go and we all had a great experience and lots of fun.
“The weather was perfect for cycling and we even managed to raise £3,000 over our target which is great.”
The route started at Lea Valley Park and finished at Midsummer Common, Cambridge.
