A SERIES of free guided walks continues with a look at one of Walthamstow's oldest shopping streets.
On Sunday, August 23, the Walthamstow Historical Society is holding a walk in Wood Street, which once served the wealthy residents who lived in large houses near Epping Forest.
Marianne Zierau, publicity secretary of Walthamstow Historical Society, said: "Today the street is a mosaic of the past and the present with a few remarkable 18th Century survivors co-existing with buildings from the Victorian era as well as with post World War Two buildings."
The walk will last about one and a half hours and is led by Marianne Zierau.
To join meet outside Wood Street Library, on the corner of Wood Street and Forest Road, Walthamstow, on Sunday, August 23, at 2pm.
No booking required. For further information call 07792 750017.
