The management at George Lane's International Supermarket have revealed plans to illuminate its controversial shop sign.
The store, situated in the heart of South Woodford's shopping district, attracted criticism from some residents earlier this year when it opened with its "brash" yellow frontage, which critics argued was not in keeping with the surrounding area.
Now the chain has submitted an application to Redbridge Council to install an illuminated version of the 54 inch by 4.4 inch sign over the front of the shop.
However work can only begin if the plans are approved by the council in the coming weeks.
