A WOMAN working at an Aldersbrook nursing home has avoided jail after circulating a picture of a half-naked dementia sufferer among staff.
Romona Dublas, 41, or Browning Road, Forest Gate, was found guilty of taking a photo of a patient at the Bakers Court nursing centre in Little Ilford Lane, after being convicted of ill-treatment and willful neglect.
The council's safeguarding team, which helps vulnerable adults, became aware of the picture which showed a 92-year-old dementia sufferer being held up by her wrists while she was naked from the waist up.
An inner London court sentenced Dublas to nine months imprisonment, suspended for a year, 200 hours community service, and banned her from working with children and vulnerable adults in the future.
It is believed to be the first conviction of its kind under the Mental Capacity Act.
