THERE were a lot of sore throats after Rainbows, Brownies and Guides took part in a camp fire challenge, singing 100 songs in just a few hours.
The girls from units in Epping, Coopersale and Waltham Abbey started at 2pm at Chigwell Row campsite and still had as much enthusiasm when they completed the hundredth song at around 5.30pm the same day.
The event was one of the Centenary Challenges, set for the girls to celebrate a hundred years of Girl Guiding.
Kayleigh, 8 from the 4th Epping Brownies said: “My favourite song was the one about the sharks or Edelweiss. I think we are all going to have sore throats tomorrow.”
Emma, also from 4th Epping Brownies said: “We sang lots of songs and also had lots of breaks. We sang all our favourite songs from Brownies and also a few nursery rhymes when we ran out.”
