A GROUP of excited toddlers enjoyed a day at the seaside without even leaving their nursery when its garden was turned into a beach for the day.

The rain could not dampen the spirits of youngsters at Play Days Nursery in South Woodford - who had a ball with buckets and spades in the sand.

The children took part in a range of popular seaside activities during the day, including building sand castles, playing with beach balls and taking it easy in a miniature dingy.

Face painting and limbo dancing were also on offer to the youngsters, who got to tuck in to a selection of tasty party snacks after building up a hunger on the beach.

Nursery worker, Sonal Ganatra, 25, said the day was enjoyed by everyone involved.

She said: “It was brilliant even though we had a little bit of rain.

“All of the children had a great time, and it was nice for them to have a change from the usual day.

“It was great to see them enjoying themselves in the sand.

“This is the first time we have done something like this and I think we’ll do it again.”
