THE husband of Harriet Harman is being lined up as the Labour candidate for Leyton and Wanstead, it has been rumoured.
Jack Dromey, the deputy general secretary of the Unite union, is said by today's Sunday Telegraph to be “very likely” to be chosen for the seat, currently held by Harry Cohen.
Mr Cohen has said he will step down from the seat at the next general election, after the stress caused by the expenses scandal.
Labour deputy leader Ms Harman, also a London MP, has three children with Mr Dromey, who is seen as a powerful figure in union circles.
