IT was another successful Summer Fayre for the Friends of Wallace Kennels when they raised £1,000 at Budworth Hall, in Ongar.
Linen, cakes, and crystal glass were all on sale at the High Street venue to raise money for the Stondon Massey-based kennels.
Friends chairman Peter Jefferson said: “They take in all the stray dogs form all around which is a constant drain on their money so we try to raise as much as we can. We've been round since 1993. Back then we used to get the occasional jumper but we've grown since then and we get so much support we're able to sort through the jumble and put the best stuff up at Budworth Hall.
“People came in and we had a steady flow. We were very pleased with the hall. It was all set out for us nicely and it was so enjoyable with a lot of nice people. They come from miles around because they know they're going to get good stuff at real value.”
The Friends next event will be a jumble sale at Tipps Cross Remembrance Hall, in Hook End, Blackmore next Saturday, August 22.
