A FRUIT swapping event is being held for people to share produce collected from their gardens.
Two Highams Park residents are holding the first event on Saturday where residents are encouraged to either bring fruit from their gardens or allotments to swap, or simply collect some for free.
Karen Frandsen, of The Avenue, Highams Park, said: "I have three pear trees and have so much I don't know what to do with it.
"So we thought it would be nice to share with others in the area because fruit is so expensive and to meet others in the community."
The event is on Saturday, August 22, from 10am to 11.30pm, in the grounds of St Anne's CofE Church, Larkshall Road, Chingford.
