A WALTHAM Forest councillor has vowed to help police tackle the problem of people meeting for sex in a Leytonstone beauty spot.
Residents living close to Hollow Ponds say the area, off Whipps Cross Road, has become a no-go zone for families.
They claim men park in surrounding streets to congregate round the clock and leave used condoms and other rubbish.
Forest Ward member Cllr Faiz Yunis said: “I spoke to members of the Forest Safer Neighbourhoods Team and they said they were doing quite a bit out there, handing out leaflets and educating people.
“I hope we're going to be doing something together – I'll be going down there with them to see what's happening.”
Epping Forest superintendent Paul Thomson confirmed staff were aware of the problem and were working closely with police and councillors to “manage the impact of this activity on visitors”.
