STAFF at a gymnasium have not been paid since the beginning of December after the company which owns it went into liquidation.
Solutions Gym in Wadham Road, Chingford, has gone bankrupt with serious debts. Staff have been left with no cash following the Christmas period, and mounting debts of their own.
One member of staff has even been evicted from her Chingford home by her landlord and forced to move out of London.
Staff have been told that a new company, operating under the name of Health Club, is expected to take over the running of the club this week, and wages will be paid under the Health Club banner from the takeover point.
However, part-time staff hours are likely to be dramatically cut.
A member of staff, who did not wish to be named, said: "I went into work on January 2, expecting to be paid on that day. However, no money was paid into our accounts. We were told it would be in later that day but it never went in.
"On the following Wednesday, we were called in for a meeting in which we were told the company no longer existed."
