A GANG of thieves have stolen over a hundred metres of copper cable from the ground under a motorway bridge.
Police believe the gang used a lorry to move 140 metres of communications cable from Meridan Way during the evening of Friday August 14.
They are appealing for witnesses to the theft which took place between 10pm and 10am the next day.
A police spokeswoman said: “We believe the thieves may have used a large vehicle to transport this cable, also it may have taken them some time to load. "If you saw anything or know the whereabouts of this heavy duty copper cable, please contact us.”
