Reports are coming in that a 13-year-old girl has been hit by a bus at an accident blackspot this afternoon (Wednesday August 19).
The girl, believed to be 13, was struck by the bus in Honey Lane shortly after 3:20pm this afternoon.
The girl whose injuries are not thought to be life-threatening has been taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.
Essex air ambulance were called and police who were called to the scene have now reopened the road.
A Spokeswoman for the East of England ambulance service confirmed the reports.
She said: "We were called at 3:20pm, to reports that a young girl had been struck by a bus, we sent a rapid response crew to the scene and they took her to Princess Alexandra Hospital."
Eyewitness Joanne Packwood described the moment the ambulance landed.
She said: "I was just sitting in the park with my chiding and this air ambulance landed out of nowhere in front of us.
The kids were excited but I realised it meant something had happened on the road again.
"Someone told me that a girl had gone under a bus."
Honey Lane has been the scene of several car crashes in the last two years.
Just six weeks ago a 17-year-old girl, was left with serious head injuries after her car struck a telegraph pole on Honey Lane.
Residents have called on the county council to put in slowing measures on the road, which Mrs Packwood said was "used like a racetrack".
She added that despite organising a petition to slow dangerous drivers, the county council had yet to respond to her.
She said: "They promised to let me know if they were going to do anything about the road, and now it's happened again - it's exactly what we were concerned about."
