TRIBUTES have been paid to the 19-year-old woman killed in a fatal collision on Monday (August 17) after a lorry overturned onto her car.
Nicola Saxton, from South Woodham Ferrers died after her Ford KA was involved in a three way crash on the A414 in Ongar.
Her car, which was travelling towards Chelmsford was struck by a white articulated lorry, which then hit a Skoda Fabia.
Nicola was cut free from her vehicle and taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, but was pronounced dead a few hours later.
The driver of the lorry, a 54-year-old man from Luton, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been released on police bail to return to Harlow police station on October 13.
Nicola's family paid an emotional tribute to their "wonderful girl" saying: “Nicola was about to start her third year studying for a law degree at the University of Hertfordshire, a course she enrolled on because she wanted to make something of herself. She was doing fantastically.
"She was a sensible and organised girl who was full of life.
“She had passed her driving test on August 7 and was enjoying driving her KA which was her pride and joy.
“She loved music and was constantly singing.
"Fearless by Taylor Swift was her favourite song and she was looking forward to seeing her in concert at Wembley in November.
“Nicola had spent the last two weeks thoroughly enjoying herself. She always put others first. We will fondly remember our pretty girl who had a wonderful smile.
“Special mention must go to Nicola’s two closest friends Laura Joyce and Natalie Corley and boyfriend Jack Bailey, who Nicola started dating while she was at university in Hertfordshire."
Before university Nicola was educated at SEEVIC College in Benfleet, Sandon School in Chelmsford and Elmwood Primary School in South Woodham Ferrers.
She leaves behind her mother Susan and father Nick as well as four siblings, 21-year-old Kirsty, 17-year-old brother Danny, Naomi,14, and 11-year-old Claude. She is also survived by her two young nephews and her grandparents.
