SOLDIERS who have been wounded during combat will benefit from a Chingford pub charity car wash.
The Royal Oak pub in Kings Head Hill is raising money for charity Help for Heroes, which spends money it receives through fundraising on causes to help British soldiers who have been injured fighting in trouble spots abroad.
Kathy Waldrab, 27, a supervisor, said: “There are a lot of reports in the media now about how soldiers don't have the right equipment and how they are suffering and we wanted to do something to help.”
Customers and staff will be washing cars, vans, lorries and taxis and other vehicles in the pub car park from noon to 6pm on Saturday, August 29.
Miss Waldrap added: “We raised about £470 last year so we hope to go one better this time.”
