MUSLIMS can get advice on how fasting during Ramadan can affect any medicine they are taking.

Ramadan is a religious observance to celebrate the month in which the Koran was said to be revealed to the prophet Mohammed.

Many Muslims fast from dawn to sunset throughout the month, and this can sometimes affect the effectiveness of prescribed drugs.

Staff at the Co-Operative pharmacy, in Wood Street, Walthamstow, have now been trained in how to advise Muslims about their medicine during Ramadan.

The pharmacy is open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.
