Friends of a biker killed in a road crash that also claimed the life of a Loughton grandmother will hold a memorial ride in his honour this week.

Denroy Dixon, 45 and Maureen Moulton, 72, died after a collision on the junction of Shonks Mill Road and London Road in Stanford Rivers on Sunday (August 16) when a motorcycle collided with a Mitsubishi Pajero.

Tributes for both have been flooding into the Guardian's website and friends of Mr Dixon, an accomplished bike enthusiast, will hold a memorial ride in his memory along the London Road this Sunday (August 23).

Mr Moulton's friend Steve Mckenzie told the Guardian: " "Denroy Orlando Dixon, (AKA Tibbs, Dixie, Diesel) was a very very close friend of mine and my family, he was also Godfather to my 11-year-old son Connor.

"Denroy was an all-round honest, straight up guy, He was a devoted father, a true friend, and a hard working business man. He ran his own kitchen fitting company Strictly Kitchens for years.

"Denroy was a very experienced rider who had been on two wheels for over 10 years! We went on ride outs as often as we could in the summer months.

"He was travelling back along the London Road, and collided with the Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4 as it turned into Shonks Mill Road. Denroy died on impact! He stood absolutely no chance!

"We visited the crash site last night (Wednesday) to pay our respects, God only knows what must have been going through his mind at that point! Denroy died doing one of the things he loved most of all. Long will he live in our hearts.

"All that remained when we arrived at the crash site was a piece of his visor which wasn't swept up from the road, my son has kept it. He will be sadly missed, we will be holding a memorial for him this week and anyone who wants to ride down is more than welcome."
