THE sister of a 20-year-old motorcyclist killed in a road crash has paid tribute to a “true gentleman” and “best brother”.
Mo Frederick Watts, of Bernwell Road, Chingford, was returning home after visiting his mum on Friday morning when his motorbike collided with a van in Hatch Lane, Chingford.
His sister, Bobbie Watts, 18, said the undergraduate and motorbike fanatic is desperately missed by his family because he was “like superman”.
She said: “He was the best brother in the world. There was nothing he wouldn't do for anybody. He was like superman and was a true gentleman.
“He meant so much to so many people. We have had grown men coming over and breaking down because of how much he meant to them.
“There are people who have left flowers and cards for him who didn't even know him, which was a real surprise to us. There has been so much love pouring in for him.”
Miss Watts said her parents, Marne and Linda Watts, aged 53 and 43, and sister Teresa Brown, 24, are all devastated, as is his 18-year-old girlfriend Samantha Capiro, who she said her brother loved “more than anything”.
The former Heathcote Secondary School pupil was studying aerospace engineering at the University of Hertfordshire and had ambitions to work with aeroplanes after graduating.
His sister said he loved riding and repairing motorbikes and was quick at learning new skills.
She said: “He had a thirst for knowledge. He worked hard and succeeded in everything he set out to do.”
She said he also played the guitar, played pool and enjoyed listening to swing greats such as Frank Sinatra.
Mr Watts' motorcycle was in collision with a van in Hatch Lane on Friday at 11.10am.
Police believe the motorbike was turning right from Hatch Lane into Ashwood Road, but the crash is still being investigated by the Collision Investigation Unit (CIU).
Mr Watts was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem examination concluded that he died from internal injuries.
An inquest was opened on Sunday (August 24) and was adjourned until a later date yet to be set.
No arrests have been made.
