A PIANIST is to celebrate his 60th birthday with a special concert at the Kenneth More Theatre.
David Silkoff, of Hainault, will perform pieces by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Mussorgsky and will also be remembering his late wife, who died of cancer.
His current wife, Ann Silkoff, 57, said: “It's a very nice programme. We've got 340 seats to sell and it should be an evening of beauty and excitement.
“There haven't been any concerts at the theatre for a long time and it'll be nice if we can get it full.”
Mr Silkoff, who teaches piano at schools in Woodford, also plays in a trio with a violinist and cellist at Copped Hall in Epping.
Mrs Silkoff added: “The box office has been closed so we've not been able to sell any tickets yet but it reopens today (Tuesday).”
The concert takes place on October 18, beginning at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 for adults, £8 for concessions and £5 for under-16s.
