WALTHAMSTOW artist Katherine Green has pledged to donate £1,000 of oral history equipment to Vestry House after receiving a grant from O2 It’s Your Community – a national scheme enabling people to make a difference in their local community.
The new listening posts will first be used at Katherine’s forthcoming exhibition, Going to the Dogs, which documents the recently closed Walthamstow Stadium.
Katherine, whose work has been published in The Guardian and Time Out, says: “I’m delighted to be able to donate equipment to the museum in order to open up the treasure trove of the museum’s archive. The archive at Vestry House Museum contains generations of oral history recordings and the new listening posts will allow staff to curate exhibitions which include this material in the future.”
