PLANS have been drawn up to install a new pedestrian crossing in Manor Road, Woodford Bridge.
The council says a puffin crossing in the road between the junctions with Cross Road and Grovewood Place will help those using the nearby Guide Dogs for the Blind Centre and walkers in general.
According to council documents there have been five road injuries in Manor Road during the last three years, none of which involved pedestrians.
The scheme, if approved, is expected to cost £146,000, of which £40,000 will be funded by Transport for London.
The plans must first be approved by the council's area two committee on Tuesday September 8, and are also subject to a consultation among residents and businesses nearby.
