AN Ilford man and a woman were threatened at knife-point during a robbery.

The 29-year-old man received minor cuts to his arm after he refused to hand over his possessions.

The two were outside Gibraltar House, The Drive, Warley, in Brentwood, when the man was asked for a cigarette.

After saying he did not smoke, one of the robbers produced a large knife and demanded all he had.

When he refused to give them anything he was grazed twice with the weapon.

The robbers fled with nothing after another friend of the victim alerted security.

Detective Constable Sarah Jefferies is investigating.

She said: “The man was threatened and assaulted by this man. It is fortunate he only received a minor injury. I want to find these men.”

One of the robbers is described as white, aged between 16 to 20, 5ft 8ins tall, slim, and wearing a white hoody, black baseball cap and dark jeans.

His accomplice is described as darker skinned, of a similar height, stocky, and wearing a dark coloured jumper.

If you have information about the attempted robbery, which happened at about 9.45pm on Wednesday, August 26, call Brentwood CID on 0300 334 444.
