ALL six men arrested in connection with a gang shooting on a troubled Leytonstone estate have now been bailed.

Police stopped one man on August 11, three on August 14 and another two on August 27.

They are all in their late teens and early 20s and were all arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

They have been bailed to return to an east London police station in late October.

The incident took place on the Cathall estate on August 10 and is believed to have involved more than one gang.

It began in Orange Grove at about 6.40pm and ended in Corn Way as children played in the street during the warm weather.

Shots were fired by a group in a car towards a large group of young men, who returned fire, but the incident is not being treated as a 'shoot out' by police.

Police believe there may be witnesses to the shooting all over the estate and a meeting was held to encourage people with information to come forward.

The shooting is being investigated by Operation Trident, which deals specifically with gun crime in the capital.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Operation Trident on 8733 4774 or to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
