FREE blood pressure checks will be offered at locations throughout the borough next week as part of a national awareness campaign.
Staff from NHS Waltham Forest (the re-badged primary care trust) will be at a different location each day.
On Monday (7) free blood pressure checks will be available at Walthamstow Library, in High Street, from 9.30am to 4pm, while on Tuesday the "pressure stations" will be at Leyton Green bus garage, in High Road, Leyton, from 10am to 2pm and at East London Gurwara, at 71 Francis Road, Leyton, from noon to 4pm.
Shoppers will be able to get their blood pressure checked at Morrisons, in Salisbury Hall Gardens, Chingford, from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Wednesday, or on Thursday at Tesco, in Gainsborough Road, Leytonstone, at the same time.
On Friday the service will be available at Leyton library, in High Road, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
An NHS Waltham Forest spokesman said: "One in three adults in the UK has high blood pressure, yet a third of those who have the condition don’t even know because it has no symptoms."
