A PUB has raised £1,000 for injured British soldiers who have fought abroad by holding a charity evening.
The Flower Pot in Wood Street, Walthamstow plans to donate the cash to Help for Heroes after holding an auction, a barbecue and a raffle.
The pub also encouraged drinkers to dress up as soldiers during the event which took place on Saturday, August 29.
Lyndsey Malloy, 28, barmaid, said: “It was a great evening. I was very busy and people made a lot of donations.”
Landlady Anne Avery added: "It was a good evening. Everyone had a good time. We wanted to raise money for Help for Heroes because they are a good cause."
The pub wish to thank Coggers Florist, Steve's Hairdressing, Gina's Unisex Hair Salon, The Pie and Mash shop, and the Pig and Whistle pub in Wood Street, and Flicks hairdressers in Victoria Road.
