POLICE will be carrying out a "reassurance" leaflet drop - three months since the murder of Michelle Samaraweera.
More than three months since the 35-year-old's death on May 30, no one has been charged with the murder or two linked rapes.
Police making house to house enquiries at addresses close to where the widow was raped and strangled in Queen's Road, Walthamstow, have so far visited 1815 homes and taken 750 mouth swabs from men matching the suspect's description.
But a police spokeswoman said the 73 full-time officers assigned to the high-profile investigation still have enquiries to make as part of the DNA sweep.
She said: “It takes time because there are lots of addresses to return to where people have been on holiday.
"They also still have so much CCTV footage to look through.”
The murder is linked by DNA evidence to two other rapes in Walthamstow - one in March and one in April - but it has not been linked to any other reported attacks in the area.
Detectives believe Ms Samaraweera's attacker, who is described as being Asian in appearance and aged between 30 and 40, has detailed knowledge of the Walthamstow area and is likely to live locally.
Since the murder, Waltham Forest police have increased both high-visibility and covert patrols and would like to hear from anyone who may have been approached by a man matching the suspect's description.
Anyone with information should call the incident room on 8345 3715 or to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
