PARENTS and employees in the childcare, education and social work sectors are invited to the annual Carefree Children conference.
The event is on Saturday from 9.30am to 4.30pm at the Welcome Centre, Church End, Walthamstow, and will include expert speakers in childhood behaviour, play and education.
Among the speakers are Walthamstow resident Tim Gill, a writer and consultant on children’s play and free time.
Writer and broadcaster Sue Palmer, author of ‘Toxic Childhood’ and ‘21st Century Boys’ will also be a guest speaker.
There will be a free crèche, which must be booked in advance, demonstrations of toys used in play therapy, books and literature stall and lunch and refreshments.
Admission is £20, or £5 for low-waged and free for unwaged and CFK volunteers.
Visitors can book in advance on 8558 7799, or can turn up on the day.
