A BOGUS driving instructor who conned people out of thousands of pounds was given a six month jail term today.
Deekan Vig, 40, of Southgate, north London, was rumbled after examiners at driving test centres across the capital including Chingford, Barnet and Winchmore Hill reported an illegal instructor presenting candidates for tests.
Vig admitted giving his pupils about ten driving lessons a week for four years despite failing the exam required for accreditation by the Driving Standards Agency.
He made up to £4,000 by conning three learner drivers into believing he was an Approved Driving Instructor.
Vig was sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, for illegally teaching learner drivers when he appeared at Wood Green Crown Court today (Thursday).
