A CANCER charity is among those set to benefit from the Woodford Festival, which gets underway next month.
The programme of events includes a jazz evening at the Mohabir Restaurant in the High Road, Woodford Green, on Saturday, October 3, where diners will be entertained by singer Bernice Butcher, who is also a trustee of Breast Cancer UK.
While on Thursday, October 8, from 8 to 11 pm, the Napier Arms in Woodford New Road will be hosting its second open-mic night, welcoming musicians, singers, stand-ups and poets. Admission is free.
Ms Butcher said: "The Festival coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so people can enjoy a great local night out and do something for breast cancer at the same time.”
