MORE than 400 mourners packed a church today to celebrate the life of “a true gentleman” who lost his life in a motorcycle accident.

The cortège for 20-year-old Mo Watts made its way from his home in Bernwell Road, in Chingford, to SS Peter and Paul in Station Road for a two-hour service.

Many family members and friends paid tribute to the “hard working” and “joyful” aerospace engineering student who died in a road accident in Hatch Lane, in Chingford, on August 21.

The packed congregation, which filled the aisles and spilled out onto the steps of the parish church, were moved to tears when his 18-year-old sister, Bobbie, sang a faultless rendition of 'I dreamed a dream' from the show Les Miserables.

His dad Marne Watts, 53, who previously described his son as his "best friend" was too overcome with emotion to speak.

His mum Linda said: “My life isn't going to be the same again. All I can say is that I am so proud of you Mo, we all are.”

His 18-year-old fiancée Sam Capiro said: “You changed my whole life in the two years I have known you. I will always love you.”

Tributes were also paid by his sisters Bobbie and Teresa, by grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends - some of whom penned poems describing him as a “gentle giant” and “a knight in shining armour” with “goodness, strength and character”.

Songs included 'The Prayer' by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion and 'Into the West' by Annie Lennox, amongst others.
