THE person who died yesterday on the M25 near Epping was a 19-year-old woman from Southall, in West London, police have revealed.
The teenager died after two vehicles collided on the hard shoulder, which was being used for traffic as roadworks were in place, between junction 27 and 28, near the junction with the M11.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The clockwise carriageway was closed for several hours following the accident, and traffic was diverted along the north circular to the Redbridge roundabout.
The road has now re-opened in both directions.
Police are asking for anybody who witnessed the smash, which happened shortly before 3pm, to contact them at Chigwell on 0300 333 4444
