FIRE fighters worked through the night trying to put out a huge hay fire at a farm.
The blaze at Bassets Lane in Willingale, Ongar was attended by five crews who used hose reel jets and ground monitors to ensure the 500 tonne bailed hay fire did not spread.
Crews have now left the incident this morning (September 7) in the care of the owner.
A spokesman from Essex Fires and Rescue said he did not think the fire, which started at around 1.20am on Saturday (September 5), was being treated as suspicious.
