THE Leytonstone Business Improvement District (e11bid) has come up with a novel approach to convincing the council to clean the borough's filthy pavements.
The company asked its contractors to “jet wash” its logo in about 50 locations around Leytonstone, using a custom stencil to leave a clean mark on the pavement.
E11bid chairman Fawaad Shaikh said: “It's a street tagging process all around Leytonstone and it's highlighted just how dirty the pavements are.
“We're trying to convince the authority to jet wash all the pavements in the borough.”
The aim of the project is to rid Waltham Forest's pavements of chewing gum and other ground-in dirt.
“The logo shows how clean our pavements can be,” Mr Shaikh said.
