FREE places on an exercise and nutrition course for overweight children are still available for this month.
Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do it (MEND) is a programme for seven to 13-year-olds and their parents, and provides families with a better understanding of food and encourages them to be more active.
Jil Pascale from Epping, whose son Joseph took part in the last course said it was a great way for him to learn about nutrition and have fun at the same time.
She said: “The practical side of the course was really good and gave the children an understanding of what they are eating.
"The group exercise sessions show the children that they are not alone with weight or confidence issues and they had great fun doing the physical activities.”
The course also includes a visit to a supermarket where children are given a task to search for healthy foods around the shop.
Sessions will be held at West Hatch High School in Chigwell between 6pm and 8pm on a Monday and Wednesday and start on September 21.
