THE E17 Art Trial is in full swing
The annual event, which has been running for five years, includes 150 art exhibitions installed in 90 venues across Walthamstow.
This year's theme is “At Home in Walthamstow”, and many artists will set up exhibitions from their own home.
The trail began at a launch in The Vestry House Museum garden and it allowed visitors a sneaky peak inside suitcases dotted around the garden by artist Valerie Groves in an instillation called Baggage Claim.
It features numerous pieces including Leyton artist Veronica Lindsay-Addy's painting called “A House is Not a Home,” which features her husband Paul playing the guitar.
Artist Della Rees has turned Walthamstow Fire Station into a work of art by painstakingly placing 60 square metres of wallpaper on the exterior of the building, the site of the birth place of world famous Walthamstow artist William Morris.
There is still plenty to do at this year's trail.
The Inky Cuttlefish Studios on Blackhorse Lane have a late night viewing on Saturday, September 12, while handmade craft work is on sale at the E17 Designers Market at The Grove Cafe in Hatherley Mews from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, September 13.
Craft work can also be purchased at the CrafTea Party at Vestry House from 2.30pm on Sunday.
This year's art trail runs until Sunday, September 13.
