I was pleased to see Mhairi Macfarlane's article about Sal Idriss' 'Famous for the Wrong Reasons' exhibition at the Vestry House Museum ('Families make painful pilgrimage' September 10).
As the event co-ordinator, may I extend my thanks to the team at the museum for all their assistance in making the exhibition possible at such short notice.
Mhairi's article acknowledged the presence of the Borough Commander, Jonathan O'Dea of Apex Arts and Mr and Mrs Ali but may I also mention the welcome presence of the Deputy Mayor of Waltham Forest, Cllr Peter Woollcott; the Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Arts & Culture, Cllr Geraldine Reardon and the third sponsor, Verdant, whose support was much appreciated.
Although Sal's proposal to roll out the project to six adjacent boroughs sadly did not receive the support of the Criminal Justice Board's Community Cashback fund in the current round, Sal is intending to apply for Lottery funding.
