WANSTEAD Festival is in full swing with stalls lining the high street and filling nearby Christchurch Green.

Visitors are expected to flock to the event throughout the afternoon.

Featuring a rock climbing wall, musical entertainment and cuisine from around the world, the festival closes at 5pm.

It will also see the winner of the Wanstead Society's Smarter High Street Campaign competition announced at 4pm.

The competition will choose a single shop from a shortlist of seven as making the biggest contribution to the Wanstead conservation area.

Visitors can vote for the shop they think deserves to win by stopping at the Wanstead Society stall.

The winning shop will receive a £500-prize.
