THE last of the summer sun was enjoyed by visitors to a charity fun day held to raise money for a children's hospice.
The annual event at St Margaret's Hospital in Epping was organised by children's play school Kidz Unlimited and hundreds of people went along to join in the fun.
Face painting, a bouncy castle, games and a fancy dress competition entertained the crowds with all proceeds donated to Haven House Children's Hospice.
Nearly £900 was raised on the day with everything donated by the community.
Room Leader Kayleigh Freshwater said: “We have links with Haven House because we have parents and staff who have had children go there.
"Everyone very much enjoyed themselves and I have had great feedback. We were well supported by the local community and staff from the dress up shop on the high street came to judge the fancy dress competition. We had firemen, princesses, Disney characters and all sorts of lovely costumes.
"There was a fire engine which came from Ongar and a dad's tug of war competition. It was a manic day but everyone had a great time.”
